Galmer Sterling Silver

Combining his passion for the arts of the Renaissance with his Moscow University electrochemical engineering and physics background, Michael Izrael has developed a unique silver process that gives new life to Repousse, the traditional craft of pushing designs from the backside of metals. Izrael, his wife and baby daughter, left Russia seeking freedom to pursue his dreams and a better life. Three months in Italy enhanced his zest for the fine arts. Arriving in the United States in 1981, he embarked on a journey to build his own business, applying his experience and knowledge using tools and techniques available in the U.S. Now, the father of two owns Galmer Silversmiths which make designs of yesterday with intricate detailing and three-dimensional appearance.
