Sterling & Pewter Mint Julep Cups
Julep Cups were born out of the South where the South's "national beverage" the mint julep was (and is) served. Inspired by early craftsmen, our mint julep cups feature distinct style features like those on the original julep cups from each craftsman. Although there's been a long-standing debate on the proper way to make mint juleps - flip a coin, there need never be any debate about the drink's appropriate vessels when choosing from among The Silver Gallery's mint julep cups.
Silver Gallery's Mint Julep Recipe:
3 oz Bourbon (only quality like Maker's Mark)
Fresh mint (about 6 springs, from the garden/plastic container in the produce section)
2 oz simple syrup (worth the time! equal amounts of water & sugar - bring to a boil)
Stir all ingredients in individual glasses. Muddle the mixture till the mint leaves are starting to bruise, about a minute or two.
Relax and let the mixture steep for another 2-3 minutes. Strain into chilled Sterling Silver Mint Julep Cups* filled with shaved/crushed ice.
Garnish with a mint leaf on top!
